Another charitable night in Darlington as St Oswald hosted their annual grand raffle. The evening commenced in the lodge with Festival Director John Thompson presenting another 11 jewels to newly qualified festival stewards. The lodge has now over 20 festival stewards, we have committed in excess of £23,000 with over 75 % of the brethren giving on a regular basis. John commended the charity steward Duncan Maw and the brethren for their tremendous efforts so far and encouraged them to “keep it up”. The usual excellent festive board followed with blues brothers Andy Watson and Duncan Maw hosting the raffle and auction which resulted in the sum of £1,500 for local Darlington charities. St Oswald are a shinning example of how to get behind the festival. Well done to all concerned.
